Kosovo Activist Kurti Released

Kurti, who is Vetevendosje’s leader, was rearrested last week for what police said was his “failure to turn up at his own trial,”, and was ordered to be detained for 30 days.

Several human rights campaigners criticised the move and said the proceedings against Kurti were “politically motivated”.

They also slammed the judiciary for imposing defence counsel on the accused, without his consent.
