Iowa Live Blogging: Ron Paul defeats Republican national front-runner in Iowa
Category: MAINSTREAM MEDIA
Now, some things we learn from tonight.
1. All the Ron Paul support on the internet is meaningless if you don't get out to the polls and actually vote. I don't care how cold it is; make the effort.
2. Nobody expected Ron Paul to win tonight, but there is no question he did far better than most commentators were expecting.
3. Scare-mongering as a campaign strategy is SOOOO 20th Century!

ABC cuts 3 from presidential debate
As Ron Paul did place in double digits in the Iowa Caucus, ABC would have looked rather biased to have eliminated him at this point. (MR)

Ron Paul Vows to Take Campaign to NH
Attention Ron Paul supporters: If there is one lesson to take away from Iowa it is that sitting at your computers filling out online polls does not get your guy into office. Yes, more Ron Paul supporters showed up than showed for Rudy Giuliani and Mr. "Terrorism" may be on his way out. But not enough Ron Paul supporters got off their duffs, braved the cold, and caucused. You know who you are. You got over-confident, figured that "the other" Ron Paul supporters would get out there and stayed home where it was warm and cozy.
Money isn't enough. Online activism isn't enough. You have to press the flesh and talk up your guy in the real world as much as the other candidates do, so for you Ron Paul supporters in the other 49 states, learn from the Iowans' mistake.
Ron Paul actually did better than a lot of people expected. He went double-digit result, beat Giuliani, and got close to Thompson and McCain.
Paul can still stay in the race if he has a strong showing in New Hampshire. If he does well there, then it will be time for the big push for Super Tuesday. McCain and Thompson are running out of money and they don't have a lot of grass roots support. They may fizzle out after New Hampshire if Paul can pull ahead of them.
That puts Paul in a position to negotiate for the VP slot at the convention if Super Tuesday puts enough delegates in his column. (MR)
